The SportsCare program at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center features a highly specialized team of sports medicine trained orthopedic physicians, physical therapists and hand therapists whose goal is preventing, diagnosing and treating injuries related to playing sports. Together, our SportsCare specialists focus their diagnosis and treatment on rapid recovery and safe return to activity.
Sports medicine focuses on the types of injuries athletes sustain, including the stress athletes place on their bodies during competitive sports. Common areas sustaining sports injuries are the knee, back, shoulder, elbow, ankle, hip, knee and hand.
We are proud to offer some of the most experienced orthopedic surgeons available in the region. Our physicians have trained at the most prestigious institutions and serve as proctors for surgeons at other hospitals learning new techniques.
Athletes who require surgery may be cared for at the PMMC’s Center for Bone and Joint Health, where a team of physicians, specialty trained nurses and therapists join together to create an individualized plan of care for each patient, again with the focus of rapid recovery.
If surgery is not required physical therapy and hand therapy is offered at PMMC’s CarePlex facility, located at 81 Robinson St., Pottstown. Our certified therapists evaluate and treat each individual patient with issues ranging from complex injuries to strains and sprains.
