Emergency Care
In life-threatening situations, the emergency services available to the Pottstown Region are invaluable. PMMC’s Emergency Department can handle a wide range of life-threatening medical emergencies.
There are things you can do to prepare for your visit to the Emergency Department. Knowing your medications, allergies and any health problems could be essential to your care.
Upon arrival to the Emergency Department, patients are triaged. The term triage implies sorting out patients based on acuity, or degree of illness. While we make every attempt to see patients in the order in which they arrive, the care being given to critically ill or injured patients may cause delays for others.
PMMC’s Emergency Department is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and is staffed by physicians who are board certified in Emergency Medicine.
All nurses are trained in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and are pediatric certified; most are Certified Emergency Room Nurses.
