POTTSTOWN MEMORIAL REGIONAL CANCER CENTER RECEIVES DONATION FROM LOCAL HAIR SALON
Pictured: Peggy Neese, RN, OCN, Director of Oncology Services, PMRCC (left), and Kathy McGonigal, RN, Breast Care Coordinator, PMRCC (right), receive a check from Terrie Uba, co-owner of T & N Hair Saloon, for $6,510.
Terrie Uba, co-owner of T & N Hair Saloon, raised $6,510 through a luau held May 2 at the Pottstown Elks Lodge. Uba and friends sold tickets to the event, which featured pork & beer, a DJ and door prizes donated by local businesses, including several golf packages. She plans to make the luau an annual event.
Uba lost her mother last year to breast cancer and wanted to give back to PMRCC. “Everyone was so wonderful and supportive of my mother and my family. They did so much for us and I just wanted to do something in return,” said Uba. The money will be used toward supporting patient financial assistance needs such as: problems with utility bills; grocery cards to offset increasing medical bills; prescriptions; paying for wigs and durable medical equipment; and medical bills.
