Pottstown Memorial Medical Center Announces Wireless Internet Service Now Available to Patients and Visitors

Pottstown, PA – Wireless internet access is now available at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center. According to John Kirby, CEO, PMMC is happy to provide this modern convenience for patients and visitors.  “We have received multiple emails and phone calls from visitors and patients wanting to know if we have wireless internet access and now we are happy to tell them yes!   Often family members want to remain at the hospital while a loved one is in surgery.  Now, if they choose, they can make good use of their time by accessing the internet to work or pass time,” said Kirby. Ron Peterson, Director of Information Systems estimates the project took about 6 weeks to install throughout the 450,000 square foot facility.  Over 150 access points were utilized to ensure wireless internet access is available hospital wide.  Information on how to access the wireless internet is located in lobby racks at the hospital and on patient floors.
